This is Elise's BG from about 3 am until 9 am today. I wish it were about 100 points lower, but note the bea-u-tiful flat line. And that, my friends, includes breakfast.
Oooh, gorgeous! Teach me, o wise one. I wanna make breakfast my bitch too! Adam has a fondness for cereal bars...which make his blood sugar go CRAZY. Or maybe I just need to stop buying them. :)
@ Stephanie - Elise has a smoothie (yogurt, fruit etc), an egg, and cinnamon whole grain toast pretty much everyday (her request). I give her her shot about 20-30 mins before she eats, and when her BG starts out "normal" (low 100s), I rarely see a spike over 180.
Of course, all bets are off on days when she's wearing red. Or the barometer is falling. Or... well, you get the idea!
That is wonderful! Way to go! How do you make her whole grain cinnamon toast? My kids love cinnamon toast. Also, what kind of yogurt do you use in the smoothie?
Honestly, I am soooo discouraged!!! I am not kidding when I say Joe's Dexcom Graph Trend looks like someone going through Delirium Tremons (severe alochol withdrawal)...IT CAN BE UGLY!
I'll take your graph trend and your "bitch" taming ways any day!
Hahahahahahahahahaha! I totally see one of those fifty's style cartoon blocks of a woman in an apron and a spoon in the air declaring "Making breakfast my bitch".
I am just so happy we don't have a Dex so I can remain in my blissfully unawares state of mind. For now ;)
I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. I am just a Mom whose little girl has Type 1 Diabetes. On this blog you will find tips and advice, but it should NEVER be a substitute for your doctor's wisdom. If your child has diabetes, or you suspect that your child has diabetes, please seek the attention of a healthcare professional, and not some crazy, over-worked, frazzled, sleep-deprived nutjob who has staked out her corner of the world-wide-web-information-super-highway and is espousing her viewpoints from it.
But I think that's good advice when it comes to anything, don't you?
